Don't Stay Stuck

I was out walking today, spending some quiet time with my thoughts, and a question came to my mind that I just couldn't shake: It's been on my mind.

Why do some people grow older, but never seem to grow beyond the things that keep holding them back?

Now, before I go any further, let me say this. I'm not speaking from a place of judgment. I'm speaking from experience. I've had my own seasons of being stuck. I've held on to things longer than I should have. I've carried hurt, disappointment, and mindsets that weren't helping me become the person God was calling me to be.

But at some point, I realized that healing requires a choice.

You can't keep blaming yesterday for every problem you face today. You can't keep replaying old wounds and expect to walk in new blessings. Growth happens when we're willing to let God work on the parts of us that nobody else sees.

One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people are waiting for life to change while refusing to change themselves. They want different results, different relationships, different circumstances, but they're still feeding the same attitudes, making the same decisions, and entertaining the same negativity.

The truth is, wisdom doesn't automatically come with age. Wisdom comes from learning, growing, praying, reflecting, and being willing to make corrections along the way.

As the years pass, our hearts should become softer, not harder. We should become more patient, more understanding, and more focused on what really matters.

The older I get, the more I realize that peace is valuable. Protecting your peace isn't weakness. Walking away from unnecessary drama isn't weakness. Choosing forgiveness isn't weakness. Those things take strength.

None of us know how much time we have left here. That's why every day is an opportunity to become better than we were yesterday. Not perfect, just better.

Instead of investing our energy into arguments, gossip, resentment, and conflict, let's invest it into loving people, encouraging others, helping where we can, and growing closer to God.

One of the biggest blessings God has given me in this season is the opportunity to serve my community through catering. To some people it may just look like preparing food, but for me it's so much more than that. It's ministry. It's a chance to love people, serve people, and be a blessing to them. Every meal I prepare reminds me that God calls us to care for one another. Whether I'm feeding families or sharing a meal with someone who needs encouragement, it keeps me grounded in my faith and reminds me that a servant's heart is where true joy is found. Serving others has taught me that when we focus less on ourselves and more on helping those around us, God has a way of growing us, humbling us, and filling our hearts with peace.

At the end of our lives, people probably won't remember every opinion we had or every argument we won. They'll remember how we treated people. They'll remember the kindness we showed, the grace we extended, and the love we shared.

So today, I just want to encourage somebody: don't let your growth stop. Let God continue shaping your heart. Let Him help you release what's weighing you down and lead you into the peace you've been searching for.

That's what's been on my heart today.🙏❤️
