GOD GIVES US NEW CHANCES, AND HIS GRACE COVERS THE GAPS.

I will be the first to say it: I should’ve done better when my kids were little. Not because I didn’t love them — Lord knows I did — but because I didn’t fully understand how important it was to teach them about God, food, and grace while their hearts were still soft and wide open. I want everyone, especially our young children to know that God isn’t just someone we talk about. He’s the One who guides us, protects us, and shows us how to love people well. When they’re small, their hearts are wide open, and that’s the perfect time to teach them who He is and how He works in the everyday moments.

Food … food is one of the easiest ways to teach love. A shared meal, a plate fixed with care — that’s ministry. That’s connection. That’s how children learn that feeding people is a way of showing God’s heart. Food teaches them generosity, gratitude, and the beauty of slowing down long enough to care for somebody else.

Grace ties it all together. Kids need to see grace lived out — in how we talk, how we forgive, how we help, and how we show up. When they watch us give grace freely, they learn how to carry it into their own lives.

So yes, it’s important. It’s important to teach them who God is. It’s important to teach them why food matters. It’s important to teach them how grace changes everything.

Because one day, these little ones will grow up and raise families of their own. And I want them to remember what they saw in us — faith in action, love in the kitchen, and grace in every corner of the home.
